Weight loss is what I hear everyone talking about in order to get ready for their summer vacations, family reunions and even high school and college reunions. Everyone wants to look like they did when they were 20 years old. In this article I am going to tell you what it takes to lose weight and look your best.

First of all you had to get your head and mind straight and focused. Forget all about those quick fixes that promise that they will show you how to lose 30 pounds in 30 days and how to go from a dress size of 18 to a 4 in that same amount of time. Most of these programs have you taking all types of fat burners, carbohydrate blockers, diuretics and tons of caffeine. They will also have you eating dangerously low amounts of calories per day. This type of program is definitely not safe and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Believe it or not, I can actually put together a safe and effective program that would enable you to lose 30 pounds in 30 days, however, most people do not have the determination and will -power to successfully complete such a program. My program consists of exercising each and every day of the week and consuming foods that are natural and organic. Because this program requires such diligence and determination, I am not going to reveal it here but I may actually publish it in another article.

Your mindset should be realistic in the sense that weight loss is actually a lifestyle and not something that we should only think about when we have to go to an event or on vacation. With this in mind please understand that it takes time to lose weight in a healthy way. I have seen far too many people cause themselves serious health issues by following the latest diet fads.

You can actually lose 2 to 5 pounds per week following a sound and healthy nutritional weight loss program. Most women can actually start losing weight consuming approximately 1200 calories per day. Men usually start losing weight when they consume approximately 1500 to 1600 calories per day. These calories should be spread out through the course of an entire day and I would recommend eating approximately 5 to 6 times a day.

Exercise is of course a vital part of any weight loss program. I would recommend that you perform some type of resistance training two days a week. Aerobic exercise is essential for burning fat and losing weight. If you are performing low intensity types of aerobic exercises I would suggest that you do 5 to 7 days a week. Moderate intensity aerobic programs can be performed three days a week. If you are going to high intensity aerobics and then I would suggest that you only perform these three days a week.
